A Study on Bio-efficacy of Dinotefuran 20% SG against Brown Plant Hopper Nilaparvatha lugens (Stall) on Paddy Oryza sativa L

In rice cultivation, the Brown plant hopper causes damage to growth of plants by sucking cell sap and it in drying crop fields this effects on turns into yellow color later brown. order overcome kind particularly a field trial was conducted during kharif 2017 at Agricul Research Station Gangavathi assess bio-efficacy Dinotefuran 20% SG against brown Nilaparvatha lugens (Stall) paddy. The results revealed that, new insecticide 40 g a.i./ha showed lowest population 0.86 0.73, 0.67 0.57 BPH/hill 3, 7,10 15 days after spray (DAS) respectively treatment significantly superior over rest treatments. Further, par with lower dose @ 30 which is recorded 1.63, 1.60, 1.49 1.42 7, 10 DAS respectively, followed standard check buprofezin @187.5g 1.90, 2.05and 2.15 respectively. Another imidacloprid 22.5g a.i./ ha found inferior all other treatments harbouring4.43,4.53, 4.76 4.87 BPH/hill, where as untreated control highest BPH 21.70 25.64 through out observational period from one day before maximum additional yield 22.37% (64.28 q/ha) case Treatment 4 (T4) an incremental benefit cost ratio 3.72.
